Hello- Does anyone currently run CCMA 6.0 in a Citrix environment? I'm attempting this and everything seems OK except RTD- which would be the 1 thing I would think would be problematic.

Anyway on the RTD issue- I can only view 1 RTD type from the Citrix server when I have 2 sessions connected. For example I can login to citrix and launch CCMA and open up an application display just fine. If I launch a 2nd citrix session I can login to CCMA just fine but my application display fails to open. I can open a skillset or agent display however with my 2nd session. As soon as I close my appl display on 1st session I can then immediately launch from my 2nd. I'm not sure why it is limiting me at this point? Oh- and it is unicast from CCMA to Citrix.

I'm begininng to troubleshoot further, but thought maybe someone could save me time and a possible headaches.

Taking any offers! Thanks everyone.

This is some sort of system limitation on ccma's part.

ignoring the citrix part, if you open 2 ccma sessions up on the same pc and try to open 2 application displays you will only ever get one. if you open 1 application display from one ccma session and 1 agent display from the other it works fine.

We have the same issue with our citrix deployment. the only way round this is to increase the number of citrix servers that ccma is hosted on and done some funky stuff with the way users connect to the citrix farm.

I'm thinking that it's down to the way it's using unicast. but i'm not a network guru

Hope this helps....

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah we have 2 Citrix servers that the CCMA application is published to so we can get an RTD from 1 session on each server. Like you said it acts the same as if you were to pull up the same RTD from a PC. From a CCMA perspective when a connection is established it sees all sessions from that Citrix server as the same IP vs the unique IP of the desktop that session is being originated from which would make sense.

I did break out the CCMA engineering guide and I found where it states RTD is not supported in Citrix running Unicast. Now not supported and doesn't work are 2 different things in my book. It doesn't specifically state that it is supported running Multicast, but I would assume it is? I'm not a network guy either so I'm going to try to work with our network guy and setup a local test Citrix server so we can get Multicast data to it. In our environment Multicast isn't enabled across WAN so I can't test on our production Citrix servers.

the traffic should be multicast between ccms and ccma then unicast from ccma to clients.

Getting multicast around your network will be a complete mare...

you could get your network guy to build a gre tunnel that sucks up the multicast from ccms and dumps it onto the same network as your citrix farm?

that's roughly how we are getting multicast around.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
