Does anyone know why the NTP tells you to load the CCMA 6.0 sw from a mapped drive location and not from the local DVD drive when upgrading from SWC4.5 to CCMA6.0? For the normal fresh install section, it does not have this requirement. For the upgrade section, it mentions it several times.

If you don't know why, has anyone upgraded the app using the DVD locally?

thanks

We currently have two CCMS servers across our estate (the rest are SCCS4.2).

The fisr was a G5 HP server which has its won DVD drive - no problem there.

The second was a recycled G3 - no internal DVD drive. We have simply bought external DVD drives. Our maintainer had no issue with that, in fact, they explicitly refused to load software from a shared drive. This was due to operational considerations though rather than any techniocal limitation of loading from drive.
