Ok here goes: We have CCM6 and would like to be able to use IE6 or 7 to view real time reports to view who is logged into whatever groups we have, see who's in the queue, you know, simple stuff, or so you would think.

We have 20 locations around the State of FL all connected via. MPLS through Sprint. We also have a Level-3 Metro-E 10Mbps link to our Corporate HQ where I reside.

Here is where it gets fun. Any server 2003 system at any location can see the real time reports without issue, any XP machine sitting on the same segment cannot. When trying to view with IE on XP we receive the error message stating
The system could not retrieve any data from the server because either the server connection is down or there are currently no agents logged in. I'm looking at the Server 2003 screen next to me working along nicely.

Anyone else out there having the same issue or have had the same issue and been able to resolve it?

Thanks
Jim

Verify that you have made all the "tweaks" to IE internet settings (trusted site, activex controls). Also make sure all the activex controls are able to download and install on your XP machines. This is all documented in the CCMA Installation and Maintenance Guide.

A lot of IT departments lock down desktop settings so that some or all parts of the Web Client are inoperable. Normally the client PC downloads actives controls over you company LAN, but if you suspect that there are issues blocking their download and installation, you can load them at the desktop.

Your distributor can access the activex controls from the Nortel PEP site.

Hey thanks for the fast response, funny you mention this. I just took a new XP machine out of the box, not joined to the domain and amazingly enough it downloaded several active x controls that my domain PC did not. I've added it to the domain however it didn't seem to matter since the active-x controls had already been installed. We are going to pursue this with our vendor now and also work on pin pointing what in the domain is blocking these Active-x controls. I'll keep you posted.

Verify that Windows Firewall is not blocking multicast/unicast ports.

Either turn off firewall or use SWC 4.5 Security Guide (applies to CCMA 6.0) to get list of UDP ports that need to be excluded.
