We are planning on upgrading our CallManager to Rel. 4.1(3)
However Cisco has quoted us a high price.
We have 3 Compaq servers with 3yr warranty and was wondering if CallManager can run on them.
Our office has roughly 560 Cisco phones, 18 remote sites with Cisco phones nationwide and rather than pay 25K for new servers, we can use what we have.

What are stats that the these servers need for CCM to run on?
We are planning to have a PUB, SUB and a remote SUB.
Are current configuration we just have a PUB and SUB.

Cisco has published requirements on CCO if you'd like to provide your own servers. Be aware that if you don't have exactly the right hardware, Cisco will not support you. You will not be able to get SMARTnet on your servers.

Also keep in mind that there are hardware detection routines in the installation software that may stop the installation if the correct hardware isn't detected.

Personally, I wouldn't put my job on the line like this. Do you really want to run your enterprise phone system on unapproved hardware without support? Who will you turn to if (when) you run into a problem?

Thanks guys for your input, I think we will stay with the quote from Cisco then.
