I have two questions regarding the desing of a ccm cluster. The topology is this: Publisher in our corp office, a sub in a datacenter in town and a sub in a datacenter in another city. These questions are based on a disaster recovery scenario

Question 1: If the pub fails at corporate and is down for an extended period of time, will I have the ability to make general phone changes on the sub(s) such as forwading a phone, changing a DN etc?

Question 2: All MGCP gateways are registered to the sub at site B. Is there a command to issue that would allow the gateways to re-register to the pub and/or sub at site C in the event of site B going down?

Thanks

1. If your Publisher goes down, you cannot make any changes or updates in CCM. You cannot even remove Call-Forward.

2. The best to achieve what you are looking for in a redundant and orderly fashion is to use the CCM-redundant host and mgcp call-agent commands on the VG and put the order of the ccm in the order that you want. Use "show CCM" to see after you are done to check the order.

I.E:
Voice-Gateway#show ccm
MGCP Domain Name: xxxxxxxxxx
Priority Status Host
============================================================
Primary Registered 10.xxx.xxx.xx1
First Backup Backup Ready 10.xxx.xxx.xx2
Second Backup Backup Ready 10.xxx.xxx.xx3

Just to add, I believe CCM5 / 6 has/will have the ability to have a roaming publisher role. AJ
