Hi all

We are experiencing some problems during the backup process of our call managers (3.2(2c)).Due to some cpu issue most of the cti route points get unregistred during that process. This impacts the production. we plan to change the backup process by backing up only what's necessary.
In the application backup utility of the call manager there are many tabs (CallManager,CRA,CAR,CER,Destination and schedule). I guess the callmanager tab is for the ccm's database backup. My question is what is the CRA tab for? knowing that the CRA is used for the administration. Also what are the CAR and CER tabs for ?

In advance thanks for your help.

If you have everything registered to a Subscriber CallManager and run your backups on the publisher then it shouldn't affect anything.

CRA is used if you are running AutoAttendant, IP Phone services like Extension Mobility or IPCC for CCM 3.2. CAR is CDR Analysis and Reporting Tool or Call Detail records, CER is Cisco Emergency Responder. If you aren't using CRA and CER then the backup tool will ignore the settings. If you want to back up the CDR records then include them. If not, leave them out and only back up CCM. Set the system to back up during off-hours for minimal impact.
If possible, get off CCM 3.2. It is old with nothing but emergency patch support and runs SQL 7. We had major issues with CCM 3.2 and SQL 7. You'll have to go to CCM 3.3 then to CCM 4.X but it will be worth it.
