Hi all, as one of my New Years resolutions I'm planning to further my Cisco certs and was considering CCNP as next with SWITCH first (due to my work which is more layer 2 focused).

However, things change and I'm now planning on moving house which means I don't have the space commitment for a lab setup. I'm now looking at CCDA which is more theory based and doesn't require a lab (afaik anyway).

Cisco ofcouse have seen through my plan and changed the CCDA or are in the progress of doing so (new exam available end of the month I believe).

My understanding of the changes are a reduced focus on voice, security and wireless and addition of what is referred to on the syallabus as:

Describe enterprise network virtualization tools

I have the current Cisco Press self study guide for CCDA, still mostly undread, but I have not spotted anything to do with 'enterprise network virtualisation tools'.

My question really is what is this subject area likely to contain?

I am leaning towards the new exam given I've not covered any security, wireless or voice thus far but there doesn't appear to be any guides on the new exam as yet.

Oh and as a side note, I am right in thinking that this will extend my CCNA if passed within the 3 yr period right?
