CC7 Historical Reports

Recently discovered that historical reports were coming up blank. Customer rebooted CCMS, seems to have cleared problem, now see's historical data from time of reboot. Question: is there any way to recover the gap in dates from last known "good report" to time of reboot? Thanks in advance.
 
Most likely one or more services stopped working and the data itself was not collected and stored, so there is no way to recover it. However, I would love it if someone could prove me wrong and show me how to recover the data, as we have this come up from time to time too.
 
I have seen this at 2 sites in the last month, at one site the customer rebooted and cleared the issue. The other site I restarted services supporting historical/real time data, that also solved the issue. I did NOT see any services stopped prior to restart. Also drilled down to “D:\Avaya\Contact Center\Manager Server\iccm\data\sdm\stats\error”.....folder was blank. :(
