I have an upgrade that I am about to do on a CS1000. The new CC6 requires that the default IP address of the PBX be changed. (This is due to the elimination of the ELAN connection) This customer has several IP components, ie: signaling servers, Call Pilot, ICB, VGMC card and so on. So my qusetion is, is there any documentation out there that may tell you the steps to take and which order to make the changes? Mainly the IP addresses and which order to change them and how.

hi

I found the networking and planning guides good for this. however you do not have to remove the elan this is still supported in CC6

Hi

You do not have to remove the elan connection on cc6 it will work with 2 connections just as before.

The E-Lan is still required (at the moment) for the PBX.

CC6 Allows you to have just one network card on what they now call the Nortel Server Lan. This Lan is then routed to the E-lan and C-Lan.

All of the above answers are correct.

When installing the CC6 you have the option to add the elan, you just tick the box and you can enter your elan details, just make sure you have 2 netowrk cards.

If you are just using the clan make sure your network admin adds route on all subnet/subnets of your clan to your elan and do the same on the elan. Devices could be a router or a routing switch.

So you dont need to make any IP changes the elan

Killian
