I am in need of help setting up cc:Mail Ver 8.5 Link to SMTP. I want to set it up for IntrAnet use only. We use NTROUTER to send and receive e-mail from a Host that eliminates virus and spam messages. However, we would like to configer the SMTP functionality internally so work stations could access cc:mail thru Outlook by recieving via POP3 and sending to the post office with SMTP. Any thoughts, or perhaps a link to a book resource, would be greatly appreciated.

I just did that a couple months ago, with no manual ;-). Do you use mailwatch?
You need to install the ccmail pop3 server, then the link to smtp. You enter in the account you've been using for internet mail, ususaly Internet or Internet-mail; then the smtp server of your service and test the settings. Didn't have to do a whole lot to get it going.

The only issue I had was the translation tables. the link transaltes automatically (it tries) to a valid smtp address. 85% it works, but it does screw up things occassionally. Let it run for a bit, and then edit the table. Its really straight forward.

I did it all from guess work and reading the helpfiles in about a day.

If you have any questions, just ask!
