I have just done a fresh install of Solaris 9 Sparc 12/02. I am trying to get the system set so I can install gcc and other gnu products. I am getting the following error:

/usr/ucb/cc: language optional software package not installed

Where do I get the language package and how do I install it?

TIA

hi
check on sunfreeware.com for gcc package.

That's the normal message you get when you don't have the Sun C Compiler installed.

You should use the gcc command instead, or else remove or rename the /usr/ucb/cc executable, or change your PATH so that it find /usr/local/bin/cc or whatever first. Annihilannic.
