I have worked with Arcserve (6.5, 6.61, 7) on Windows NT/2000 for some years now, and i'm not impressed with the quality of the code, or the support on the product.

Some frustrations:

* Why does CA/Arcserve insist on using a CAZ file format on pathes? What's wrong with ZIP, EXE ?

* Why can't I download *one* complete installable updated version of Arcseve 2000 Adv Ed. from
* Support for Libraries on Windows 2000 is very difficult to get right. Should I install W2K driver for the library ? Should I install W2K drivers for the tape drives ? Should I use the "enable/disable for RSM" to give Arcserve full control ? Why can't the installation program take care of this ?

* Client Support on Metaframe servers with remapped drives ??? When C-drive suddenly is M-drive Arcserve will not proceed. I manage to install it by tweaking som files which has hardcoded Reg-IT to C: drive, but when SP3 came it would not install.

Cheers
