I have a question about extending catv about 600'. I have to run fiber for the church network, and would like the catv (and other items) to ride on the other fibers. I plan to run a 12/12, because most of the cctv coax converters are for SM. All the cctv fiber converters that I see, are around $500+ for the transmitter. I could run rg-6 or rg-11. If I go coax, is it better to boost before the run or at the end of the run? I will be coming straight off of the cctv tap located inside the church. I have placed alot of different media converters before on the network side, but not for catv. What would happend if you used a standard video fiber converter for cctv? Does anyone know of a cheaper cctv media converter? I also see this "HD-SDI to FC Fiber Optic Converter ", I feel like this is just HD video on fiber. I also have seen some media converters for voice. Is it possible to use these fiber phone converters for digital 4x16 nortel pbx sets? I know the nortel 032 makes fiber exp mods. thank you for any help on this
