Greetings!!
I'm new to the whole switch configuration, so please bear with me...
I have a Catalyst 2900 (16 port). I'm looking to reload the factory configuration settings (since I'm sure it's all mucked up config wise) so that I can start from scratch.
Once that's accomplished, I'm trying to hook my Cisco 675 DSL router into that to share it out with my mini-network. I've tried it as is with both a cross-over cable (which works through a hub) and a regular network cable. No link light either way.. :-(
I was told that 'flashing' or reloading the defaults would solve that problem and then I can muck it up on my own later...I've tried the 'write erase' command which I saw on this forum, but it didn't help...
Once reloaded, will I be able to simply plug the 675 into the switch or is additional configuration required (I don't currently have any subnets, etc. set up on my network with the exception of what IP information my DSL provider gave to me)?
Any and all of your expertise is greatly appreciated. I'm sure it won't be the last time I'll ask a remedial question!!
Thanks a million.
