Running BackupExec for Windows 9.0 on Windows 2000 Server. I understand that you need to delete the older backup catalogs in order to conserve space, but since re-cataloging media is so time consuming, I'm considering increasing the number of days to keep a catalog. Does anyone have an idea of how big a catalog file grows after a single 40GB backup? Thank you.

Can't tell you exactly how much a 40 GB backup would increase the catalog, but hope this helps somehow. In my situation, I'm backing up at least 500 GB on the weekends, sometimes up to 900 GB (almost at that TB!). I have it set to keep my catalogs for 365 days and my catalog is 43 GB.
