I had a backup file which was saved on another disk. My c: disk crashed and I needed to reformat. I have tried to restore my file which were saved with Seagate's Backup Exec. But I keep getting the message "can not find catalog" is there any way I can open the backup file and use what I need?

In Backup Exec, go to the Devices tab and right click the device that holds the media. Choose catalog from the menu that appears. This should create a new catalog for that media, so the program knows what's on there.

Hope this helps.
