we am using the evaluation version of back up exec 8.6
we have purchased the backup exec 8.5 but that is buggy
anyway
back up was working fine for a while
now i get this error
when i try to back up

Calalog Error
There is not enough disk space available to write the on-disk catalogs.

Please free some space on the volume and retry the operation.

help please

first off how do i check that i have enough space?
I have also inserted already formatted medias and this error still pops up
i really need to get the back up workin
thank you in advance

1.
tools/options/catalog - change the path and drive of catalog to a partition with enough space.

exit Backup Exec application

stop Backup Exec services, move current catalog folder to the above path. (this will keep your old catalog files) If you dont care about the catalogs just delete the old catalog directory.

Restart services.

For preventative maintenance:
tools/options/catalog - check remove unused catalogs after x days

Yes I have catalogs set on a drive with about 3 gigs left
i am backing up over the network using a tape drive
There is more than enough space for catalogs
also
i have set "use media storage based catalogs"
I have solved the catalog problem
at least to the best of my knowledge
with by setting
tools/options/backup
media overwrite protection
"overwrite media"

but now i get these errors

The media provided to continue the backup already contains data
from one or more sets created during this operation.
The operation can not be continued

From my understanding this shouldn't matter as "overwrite media" is set

Thank you for all your help so far
