Catalog could not be created

When I try to setup a catalog in the Indexing Service I receive the following error:

Catalog could not be created
Catalog name or location is already in use or invalid

Restarted server
Reinstalled indexing service (Add remove windows components)
Tried several names and locations
Checked permissions (Full Administrative rights)

Any Ideas?
