My customer is moving a data rack aprox 30' which has 150 cables on several patch panels. All but 10 of cables can be extended. The customer does not want to pay for new cable. Is there a splice for Cat5e? 110?

The thing that I have used is a C5E rated 110 block. Kind of bulky, but you can get the half block. Maybe someone else has used something else that works better, or as well.

Even so, network runs really aren't supposed to be spliced.

I'll admit, when I've really been in a pinch, and I've made the customer aware, I've put a jack on the end of the original run, and extended it with a RJ45 plug to the new location.

So long as it certifies, that's worked for me.

Pretty sure the standards allow for a consolidation point in a cable run ,as long as you keep to under 90m in the horizontal, 110 works really well

that little splice box is great for 1 or 2 cables, but for 10 cables you're talking 40 pairs, so I'd go with a full 110 block at or near old location with a pair of 25-pair cat5 extensions to new location.

Thanks to all for your responses. I'll go with the 110 block.
