I have one MAC with the above OS's. If I run it directly to my switches with cat5e, it has a slow upload/download on our ftp and mailservers. BUT....if I connect it to a $30 linksys router then to my switch...IT WORKS FINE!!! Can someone explain this? I have new runs to the computer and have even put it on differnt switches.

In the future everything will work...

I am betting it is a G3 or an early G4 and a cisco switch and they can't do AUot negotiation together.

You could lock the switch on Half duplex or lock both the switch and the Mac on Full duplex but that will be easier in OSX than in OS9.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

How do I change the settings in OS9 or 10? I would rather do that. What is it in?

In the future everything will work...

It is a G4 on a 3com switch....we had this problem with OS9, so we upgraded to OSX...same problem

In the future everything will work...
