We have a lot of older Cisco AP350 access points and currently using cisco poe switches which handle the older power specs but are looking to put in newer Dell poe switches which are 802.3af compliant. Problem is that these dell switches can't handle older Cisco ap's as is. We tried using powerdsine adpaters and problems with them keep rebooting ap's when a wireless device hits it. I found a blog where someone mentioned some wiring for an ip phone that sounded like our problem but with ap's so I figured, I'd give it a try so I made up a couple of cat5 cables and seems to be working but just wanted to see if I'm missing anything and if anyone sees and possible issues with this. I noticed the dell switches were showing as power class 1 when using powerdsine adapters but show as class 0 with my own wiring according to below specs. Here is the wiring config they say to try.

looks like the cable config you show is swapping the + and - power on the cables.

But, it seems to be working fine for the past 24 hours. No errors and clients are connecting fine. Thanks, Joe
