Stupid question, I am looking at a new office space we are about to move into. They have the place wired from the last tenant, but they only connected 4 of the 8 wires and bent back the rest. I know you only really use 4 for 10/100, but shouldn't they have connected the rest anyways? Will this still push 100 Mps or only 10 Mps? I was thinking of just running new wire to make sure we get to a good start. Thanks guys for your advice!!

It will push 100, but if the person who installed it was too lazy to punch down 4 extra wires per drop, can you really trust that cable system to handle your business communications effectively? Take the time and replace the drops.
