I was wondering if anyone knew if there might be any interference (or code) issues with installing CAT 5e cabling next to CATV cabling?
By "next to" I mean cable tied togother!

Thanks.

NO Problems that i'm aware of. I did it in the pentagon (installed rg6 and cat 5e and fiber all in same tray) and i did at my house. it's romex and flourescent lighting ballasts that you have to worry about. even that if you stay i think 6" away you're ok.

Hope this helped.

Only thing I think of to be aware of is if the 6 segment goes out to the roof for Satalite. Be sure it is grounded at the entrance or it could couple (transfer) high voltage surges from nearby lightning into your data cable.

Why is there never a phone in the phone closet?

RG6 and CAT 5 are sold as bundled cable; it has to be OK together. I only know of restrictions that apply with power/AC near low voltage.

CATV coax is all shielded cable as far as I know. Probably that, combined with a low voltage signal keeps it out of the standards books.
