any recommendations on amphenol connected patch panels for data?

The only ones I know of are for 10baseT and are 4 wires.

Just saw a sample from the Superior Modular salesman. Sorry, don't have a link, but it is sold through electrical wholesale dealers.

connecting one portion of a building with another

I would establish a switch and IDF at the other portion of the building then pull two 4pair cat5e cables to tie the two switches together . (use one and one as a spare )

Cheaper ? maybe , maybe not you would have to price it out

top of my head a would think yes

labor to pull would be less , easier to pull two 4 pair than one 25 pair .

two four pair would be cheaper than one pre connectorized 25 pair

switch would probably be cheaper than two amp patch panels

Better ? I would say Yes and that really should be the question , rather than cost

if you ever neeed to add at the new loction it would be no problem with the switch there vs the limitation of the 25 pair

another thing to look at

how many connections at the new portion ?

what is the distance from the current switch to the farthest loction in the new portion ?

keep in mind the 100 meter eternet limation

with a switch at the new portion the 100 meter's starts at the idf rather than the mdf
