Hi again, yet another question:
My boombox in my room really wasnt working. I had to extend the speakers so I spliced in some speaker zip cable, probably 20 ga. The splices were messed up, and I ended up cutting off those cables and taking them out of the receiver. I had some scrap cable left over, so I got some beanies and spliced the cat 5 cable to the wires coming out of the speaker. I had to use 1 pair for each of the 2 speaker wires since cat 5 is only 24 ga.
Here is the color code I used:
From Speaker/To Boombox Cat 5
Red......................Wh/blue
Black....................Wh/orange
The speakers are working better now.
Will cat 5 work in the long run for audio?

Thanks Again

For the quality of your boombox and speakers, you should be fine. It is only my opinion, based on my experience and education...I am always willing to learn, educate me!
