casting VARCHAR in Impromptu

I am trying to recast a varchar entity into char(30) in an Impromptu report. None of the functions in Impromptu have that feature built in. Can any one guide me to how this can be done in an impromptu report ?

Why would you need to make that conversion in a report? If we understand the requirement better, it might help us provide a solution.
