Roger,
I'm running W2K and had the same sort of problem, but here is what I've done:
I use a startup manager (ZD startup cop) to keep both ActiveSync (3.7.1) and the Casio PC-Connect from autostarting. Then, I fire up which ever one that I want to use.
For the Casio stuff, and there are a lot of apps that use it, then I fire up PC Connect Starter and followed by the PC Connect. Lots of the original type apps have to be installed that way.
For A/S I use the latest launcher on the Be-300, and I use SQ for my uber shell. Depending on the state when the Cassiopeia is moved, I may have to go into Connections and turn off the autoconnect checkbox, then fire up the active sync. Sometimes it takes a couple of cycles to get everyone talking, but it mostly works. There is also an app called Kill Active Sync, which I have to use If I want to switch back to PC-Connect.....
What I cannot do, though, is to get Activesynch to see any of my Outlook folders, just the file synch folder. The other problem is that if I use PC COnnect to sync my outlook 2000 with the BE-300, I do not see headers from mail coming from inside the firewall. Outside mail with the @ in it also get transformed from a simple one like address@domain.com to a 122234-99adadf-junk-junk@domain.com.
I really would like to find a good sync package for this easy to mod little box...... That way I could deal with my email that makes it thru the spam filters at my leisure.
