Hi there,

I'm currently writing an EPOS system, and am just about to purchase the till drawer. They require some form of signal to be sent through the serial port, and I just wondered if anyone has any experience of doing this with access, and can offer any advice.

Kind regards

No direct experience with Access an EPOS but you should be able to use the Microsoft Communication Control on an Access Form to write serial data to a com port.

Hello -

From the info. I've gathered on most cash drawers, they use a signal from the receipt printer to trigger the opening.

So, when you finalize the order - the receipt prints and the cash drawer opens (thats why the cash drawer opens even when you use a credit card or debit card).

Of couse, it only helps you if you have a receipt printer that does this.. Hope it helps, anywayz!
