I read about CASE condition handling method in SQL-92.
It did not work in Access-97 SQL queries. Can it actually be used on other platforms?

Most databases support CASE statements, as it is a significant feature in SQL 92, and SQL 92 compliance is a standard that is becoming ...well, a standard.
Microsoft is bucking that trend, but is slowly coming around to it as well.
You can use If Then statements as a substitute, but these are more of a pain to use when they are nested, compared to an equivalent CASE statement. [sig][/sig]

With IngresII it is optional on instalation ( though you can edit the system configuration to change it ). [sig]<p>Ged Jones<br><a href=mailto:gedejones@hotmail.com>gedejones@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>Top man[/sig]
