Cascading HGs and Line Appearance Buttons

Hey all,

I searched through the forum and found a few threads with some information as far as how to set up the cascading incoming ring. I was able to set it up this way with an eventual fallback/overflow to the Auto-Attendant.

Call route:
Immediate HG (Reception) -> Overflow HG (Reception +) -> AA

The issue I'm facing is that this site wants to have 'Line Appearance' buttons (I know, I know). Now all the sets had line appearances set to :99, no ring so when the calls were hitting that secondary HG they were only visually alerting. I tried changing the line buttons to immediate or delay but that just had those phones ringing immediately (or after 1 ring in the case of :5, delayed ring).

Would you have any suggestions as to how we'd be able to get that secondary group ringing at the right time instead of only visually alerting?

If they are logged into the group, they should ring. Not on the line, but on their call appearance button. It will flash on the line as you describe.
 
Line appearances have nasty consequences.
Tell them that line appearances will not work like they want to and remove them.
Knowing which line is in use is total useless information.
It is your job to convince them that they better listen to you (the expert) instead of trying to use technique from the 1980's

Thanks for your advice, I figured Line Appearance was the main offender. I'll drag them into this century kicking and screaming if I have to.
