Hello Everyone!

I created a cascading prompt with the structure like country->state->city

But when i run the country is not showing all the available data.It is showing only part of it.

When i create a prompt with just the country its fine.

Any Suggetions.

Thank You

Sounds like a JOIN problem.

Do you get only COUNTRY records that have STATE data...?

There is a limit of 1000 values to the final set of values, so that if when you get to the city level there is a 'tree' containing more than 1000 values, it will limit the higher level prompts to a set that will not lead to final tally > 1000--if you follow me. You might be able to change a registry value to affect this, but changing registry values is risky if you don't know what you are doing.

You may need to edit the registry as ldass mentioned.

Change the following key

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV

Create a new string with following:
Name: MaxRowsetRecords
Value: 5000

Adjust the number accordingly.
That path is for XI R2 so if you run XI then use \Suite 11\ where neccessary.

Just found the BO article.

In my experience I had to set it in HKLM as setting it in HKCU didnt do anything.

Restart BO server services.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for all your responses.

Yes iam working with my admin guys to add the registry key.

Will update once i get it.

Want to know if this is risky.

I've never had a problem with changing the registry but I always know what I'm doing.

I also suggest you try this on a test server but I think that goes without saying. Or should do :)

thank you for the suggesion ,that's what we are doing we are gonna test it on TEST then we will push it to prod.

Hello lbass/bTkalternate

our admin guys added the registry key to the test server
now what do i do.
Iam new and never done this before,i mean even publishing the reprt to test server, right now i have access to the test servers Infoview and CMC.
I dont know how i can save it on enterprise to test server.
When i say save as i could see only my production server in the enterprise.

Please guide me.

Thank You

Thank you

i figured it out
in case anybody needs to know:

i logged off from the current repository which you can do by going to view-repository explorer then log into new repository.

And problem:

even after adding the registry key it doesn't seem to work.still iam having the same problem.I still can't see all the list of Category

If you are using Crystal Reports or repository explorer etc on a workstation then you should add the key to the workstation too. I think it goes in the same place in the registry.

You wont need to add this to all workstations, just to those that have CR or have other client tools.
