carunjob.exe at 99% of CPU

Hello
when job is launching and when it is trying to backup files *.cat in the folder "Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\Temp" the job is blocked at 99% and the process carunjob.exe consummed 99% of cpu.
In spite of exluding this folder from any jobs, this problem is persisting.
Software:Arcserve 9.0 patch 5
OS : Windows 2003

Hey Ramzi,

The cat files must get merged into the database.since these files are left over in the temp folder,you are most likely facing a database corruption issue.So just run through the database maintenance and also run mergecat.exe from the brightstor backup folder and check if the cat files are cleared up.If problem still persists you might want to initialise the astpsdat database alone and then also clear up the cat files from the temp folder.

The problem present only when doing backup FOR c: but when doing backup only for system state there is no problem.

On the chance it might be related to those cat files take a look at this What are those files in the ARCserve\Temp directory? faq478-4059.
