What exactly does that mean? what is it doing?

Seems to do it sometimes but all the time.

Excrement Mangler is loading the appropriate files from that system to mangle....errr....manage it.

Nothing to worry about.

Element Manager is modular. When it first loads, it knows nothing about the devices it manages. It must first connect to the device and download the "cartridge", which is essentially a plug-in for Element Manager. The cartridge tells Element Manager how to communicate with a a specific device / version of software.

The cartridges get updated on the device with patches or software upgrades. As that can change, Element Manager downloads the cartridge from the device.

On a fast network, the "loading Cartridge" message should just be a quick flash or not noticeable. However if there are network issues, slow computer running Element Manager, or the BCM is very busy, the loading message stays on the screen a bit longer.

It's quite normal, and nothing to worry about.

Yes sometime we use VPN and why we dont see the message.

well look in the folder where Element Manager is installed;

ElementManager\bin\registry\cartridges

all the previously downloaded cartridges are stored there, so if you log to the same system twice it won't re-download it, unless, as it has been mentioned, the system got upgraded or patched.

Once, we had to dial through dial-up into a 3.0 from a computer that never did before, and instead of waiting 45 minutes we just copy-pasted the relevant catridge and we were lucky enough that it matched.
