Carry over sessions?

I have run into an issue where I have to send a query to a outside merchant account where it then comes back to my site to an approved or declined page. The problem is, when it returns to the approved or declined page it starts a new session. How can I carry over the same the session so I dont lose all my session information.

CF sessions persist after the browser is closed unless you tell it not to. are you doing that?
