We are looking in to adding online ordering and with the increase in carryout orders, we would like to upgrade our carryout packaging. As a result, we would like to increase pricing for certain items for carryout orders only. Basically, anything with the new packaging we would like to add $1 to the normal price. However, we would like to add this $1 on to the listed price on the website. I have looked in to surcharging and the service charge option under Order Mode and neither seem to be able to do what is being requested. They do not want to add a line on to the receipt stating that there is a surcharge or service charge.

Basically, what I'm looking to do is to create a category that has these items (entrees, desserts, side items, etc) that Aloha would automatically add $1 to the 'dine-in' item price when the order mode is entered as "to-go." I'm not sure it has the capability to do this, I'm just hoping to not have to create new items in the system with a higher price, that are used for carryout orders.

If your current submenus are using item pricing, you can create a price change, assign the prices your want for those items and then, using events apply that price change to that revenue center. Have a job code also assigned to same revenue center and only they will see the increased price.

As a Customer I may feel offended as I am not using your paid staff to serve me, did not take up a table, use any plates, glassware or utensils that needed to be washed by paid dishwasher, no table needed to be bussed, yet I am paying higher price to not eat in your restaurant.

I hear ya. I hope to get the decision makers to understand this. I will look at your tip if they continue to insist on this pricing. I appreciate the feedback!
