I have done two installs in the last week where we are having problems with the cards not going into the 5 slot carrier. The first one was all new equipment. The 308 card would not fit into slot one. After about a half hour I finally got it in. All the rest of the cards went in fine.
The next job we changed out a ACS version 3 with a ACS release 7. Same thing we could not get the card in. Finally it seemed to be in, but the next day the system was dead. The customer pushed on the card and it came back up.
Anyone else having this problem? Have you figured out a fix?

If all else fail, reboot.

I haven't run into that problem, but sometimes, you have to shift a module around slightly in order for it to seat properly in the carrier.

Once the module is firmly seated, the latch on the top of the carrier will drop into the cut-out on the top of the module. That should keep the module seated firmly.

You sure the cards are new?, I had a few "refurb" units with brand X power supply connectors, would not go in unless you got a 800 pound gorilla to shove it it, I wouldn't use them for fear of cracking the back plane, sent them back and got more from a different supplier?

I have seen this alot on the newer carriers. The were a Pain in the A** when i used to work on them.

i had this once and it was something with the gap between the connector and the top of the card. if you force it a little harder it will go in. it just does not slide in like the others.

Used to bang the heck out of the top of the module, slightly upwards, with the palm of the hand. Had this trouble on the earlier carriers more often.

Had a few "complaints" like this until the interconnect figured out that NEW Partner mods have a clear plastic cover over the rear male edge connector. He actually broke the plastic cover banging it with his fist. OUCH!
