I am trying to install an MSI GeForce 4 MX4000 AGP card into my PC, which is a Biostar iDEQ 210V. However Win XP does not see the card at all, the new hardware wizard does not load, using the Add Hardware option does not find the card, if I use the drivers CD it tells me no compatible hardware was found, also tried latest downloaded drivers etc etc.

I am getting video through the card, but just am unable to install the drivers. I have no idea what to try next as have tried all the options that I know of, any help please!!

Thanks.

Does this board have onboard video? If so have you disabled it? Second have you tried this card in any other computers to ensure the card itself isnt bad?

naiku,

Good suggestions above, to which I'd add: Make certain that the card is seated correctly in the slot, and that the AGP bus is enabled in BIOS. Either of these could cause the card not to be found in Windows.

Thanks for the replies, I had already tried all suggestions above. The only thing I had not tried was the card in another computer, but I had tried another card in the same computer.

In the end I gave up and reloaded XP, bit of a long winded way to install a card but the PC runs better now.
