Card and Slot configuration on Magix

I understand the rule of thumb is to have only 2 100D cards in a carrier with a max of 3 in a system. I just talked to a tech and he also added that there also needs to be an alternating pattern between the 5v cards and the 48v cards (not having two 5v cards side by side). I have not seen this in the manual about alternating these cards in the system. Can someone shed some light and preferably tell me where it's documented stating this.

I've seen them both ways.
