Capturing reports server response on generating report to a file

When I generate a report output to a file (web based report - generation done using the url), the reports server sends the message like "Report output generated successfully" to the webserver, which in turn prints it on the page.
Is there any way I can have a control on this output message, so that I can suppress this and manipulate the control to perform some other operation (like redirecting the control to some other page when generation is successful)?
