I was wondering if anyone has a workaround to my problem.
We have several stand alone DLC printers on our network and we use AACPAC a DOS based accounting program. naturally the DOS app cant print to our printer directly so I capture the port.
On my NT machines what I do is:
1) I share the machine
2) i use net use to capture lpt1 and send it to the UNC printer share on the local machine
on the Win 98 machine when I capture the port it wont let me redirect to a share on this machine...win 98 will me redirect to another machines UNC share but not the local one...does anyone know another way to fix this problem ( we used to use a print server, but these DLC printers have really cut down our network traffic
thanks if you can help
