I am writing a program in Foxpro 2.6 dos ver. and need to capture data from an OMR (optical mark Reader) through COM ports 1 or 2 . How do I solve this , I will be pleased if code segments are added to explain the answer.

Thanks in advance.

Solo,
If this was 10 years ago, and you were running strictly in DOS, I'd tell you to get SilverComm from SilverWare - I did just that back then. But they are now out of business, and most everyone is actually running under Windows in a DOS window (or worse a DOS emulation in NT/2000), and the hardware is very much different.

Consider doing this in VFP, there are many possible solutions for this environment.
