Does anyone know if there is any way to capture incoming Caller-ID information to the SMDR. It is nice to be able to capture the numbers dialled on outgoing calls but the client would also like to see where his incoming calls are coming from.

If this is not possible with the standard Nortel SMDR unit, the client does have a NAM, is there any software that could be installed on it to do the type of SMDR they want.

Thanks,

When the option of CLID Record Format is selected you will have all incoming call CLID data passed from the KSU to the SMDR. It is printed after the header as CALLING NUMBER, NAME and LONG DISTANCE. Remember the KSU must be configured to recieve CLID information. darnold@americaii.com

The SMDR will capture incoming as well as outgoing call information. You just need to program it to do so.

Feature * 2
Press the NEXT button that comes up in your screen until you see:
REPORT: OUTGOING
Press the change button until it says ALL.

That should do it for you. MRoberts

I have the SMDR set to ALL already... just looking at the unit itself which is an NT8B95, date code on the back looks like its a '92 vintage. Could this be an issue of needing a newer SMDR unit?

Thanks,

Yes, caller ID is coming in to the phones just great.

Are you set to SL1 format in the SMDR? MRoberts

Okay actually you could be set to FORMAT: Norstar and it should give you another show button down in the display. Press show and it should say Norstar: Standard. Press change and make it CLID. MRoberts

Thought you had it for a second there... except I don't get a SHOW button... only NEXT and CHANGE on the format screen. What software version are you checking on, this system has MICS 4.1XC

Thanks again,

Well, it shouldn't matter the sw version actually. It's in the SMDR programming. I'm using SMDR 5. What version SMDR unit are you using? MRoberts

I'm looking at it says that the show button will only show up when it's installed on DR5 or later. You should have it come up fine. What happens when it shows FORMAT: NORSTAR and you hit next what comes up?

Not sure what version the SMDR is... on the front it is just marked NT8B95 SMDR Interface... the serial number tag also just shows NT8B95 with a manufacture date in 1992

At the Format prompt if I hit next it just goes along to the language selection prompt.

Cheers,
