All the info on this that Ive seen has been huge insane workarounds.

Basically, the user is able to arrange things like text and clipart on a stage. I want to be able to capture the image of what they did. If I get the whole screen thats fine... I just need to be able to capture that image and save it to the server.

I figure that by pressing the "PRNT SCR" button on the keyboard can do it, it can be mimiced on the server side with something that flash can just trigger.

Any thoughts? 1 love -

Can't think of any way to do that without third party software.

What you could do if it's just clipart etc is store the screen positions of the art in an array or other data construct and then store that information on the server so that it can be reconstructed exactly. I've done that recently for a site (actually the data is stored in a cookie but the principle is the same) and it works pretty well.

making a scrprnt of a users desktop is proberbly not easily possible as it has some security flaws, what if a user had a file with his personal or creditcard details open on the desktop....

as wangbar says it would proberbly be best to just get the _x and _y of all the objects and store it in a file, database or cookie.

I learned a bit yesterday, today i learned a lot, imagine what i'll learn tomorrow!
