Is there anyway to have the caption of a report dynamically reflect the current date every time that it is accessed?

Rather than adjusting the report caption title everytime it is opened.

Thanx in advance.

MJM.

Where do I assign the =date() value in a form's properties.

Is there a control source option?

Like tempclerk said, just put =date() in an unbound textbox's control source field which is on the data tab in the textbox's properties.

I may be misunderstanding your question. If you want the current date printed on your report, in the report header, add a text box and set the control source of that text box to =Date()

If this is not what you wanted, please clarify?

Yes I know that I could generate the date within the form.

What I am refering to is the actual Form name.

What I am using the form for is to make a table from an make table query, all data in the newly created table will be the resource for the form.

I then want to export this form as a text file as an archive.

All of this will be done within one macro. However if I automatically export the report the text file will inherit the reports name. The name of this archive file needs to contain the date.

The only way of I see getting around this is to prompt the user to name the archive text file.

What I wanted to know is if the report could inherit the date within its name when exporting to a flat text file without having the user enter it. If the reports name was based on the current date could this not be achieved.

But how do I adjust the reports properties so that its name will reflect the current date.

Any help would be great.
