I have several users that have requested to have their caps lock automatically come on when they start up their machines.

Has anyone ever heard of this or done this. They are running XP Pro.

Thanks

Howdy,

If no-one else comes up with anything better then here's one solution.

Download the program and write a batch file to run this with the +c parameter to turn on caps lock. Put the batch file in the startup folder for that user or all users and caps lock should be on once logged in.

Hope this helps

Open the registry and go to:

[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard]

and set

"InitialKeyboardIndicators"="1"

Other options are:
0 - all indicators off
1 - Caps Lock on
2 - Num Lock on
3 - Caps Lock and Num Lock on
4 - Scroll Lock on
5 - Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on
6 - Num Lock and Scroll Lock on
7 - Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock on

Thanks...did not realize there were additional settings other than to turn on numlock
