I work a lot in caps, programming and stuff looks neater to me!

I now have IE6 and whenever a site needs a user id and password I get a very annoying message pop up. I am sure it is possible to stop this - but have no idea.

A star to the star who tells me how to get rid of this irksome feature!

YOU can't:

The webmaster for the site that makes the password protected page CAN. It is just part of the coding that the webmaster has chosen (for everything to be lowercase), so unfortuneately, you can't do much about it. If the coding asks for lowercase and you enter in UPPERCASE, then there will be an error. It's like you trying to access your AA: drive in DOS when there can't be an AA: drive. Understand.

Nate,

I'm not sure if you quite followed my meaning, its not the need to enter the password in the right case - or even the requirement for a password, and I'm pretty sure it's nothing to do with any particular web site, because the pop-up I'm talking about doesn't appear in IE5.

Its the 'bubble' message ON TOP of the password window that I want rid of. It has to be a setting buried in IE6 / Registry somewhere. Any ideas?

Can you please give a web address to a site that gives this "bubble window", I guess I don't know what you mean, until I see it.

I use IE6 [deejay]

Thanks for all your trouble, its ANY site that requires authentication - for example, iii.co.uk, any bank.

If I have left my caps lock on when the 'User ID & Password' window is brought up by Explorer, I get an irritating message bubble on top of it (obscuring the buttons) that says 'you have caps lock on...' or words to that effect. Rather like that blinking 'Mr Clip' beast you get in Office!

Do you follow?

Best regards
