My customer has a CAP module with everyones extension on it. They currently only get a arrow indicating when that extension is actively on their line. They would like extensions on the module to ring and appear so the operator can pick it up before it goes to voicemail. If this is possible can some please tell where i make this happen.

No easy task on Norstar:
You would need to use the answer DN feature of the system.
The maximum number of answer DN's assignable to a single DN is 8.
Therefore this would only work for 8 users.
If the users have DID's this would be easier as the DID assignments could be present on the user and CAP positions.
This would take additional buttons on the CAP.
One per DN.
One per DID.

If the operator is to answer all calls for users in lieu of the voicemail then I would set the forward no answer timer for each DN to the reception DN after 3 rings.
The receptionist could then direct transfer to vm using feature986 followed by manually entering the vmbox number.

Thanks for your reply. i had a feeling it involved answer DN's and it would be limited. I think i'll just tell them no and let it go to voicemail. That is what its for anyway. Thanks again.
 
You could make it a no/but and have her decide who is important enough for her to answer there calls.

Owner, VP's, etc.
