Hello,

Is the 4.7 .CAP file format backward compatible with earlier versions of Sniffer -- such as Sniffer Basic 4.5 and Sniffer Pro 4.0?

On a similiar note, 4.7 allows you to save Expert Objects. Would Sniffer Basic ignore these Objects? Or would this .CAP file be un-readable by Basic.

the .CAP from the Version 4.7 is compatible with the version 4.0 or 4.5/4.6.

The CAP have change from 3.x to 4.x. If you save a trace with the .CAP under 4.x you can't open this under 3.x. The only way is to save the traces under 4.x with the extension .caz and you can open this traces with the 3.x.
