Canvasx Canvasy help Bindings to a Canvas

Hello Friends,
I have a strange problem.
I have written a code for a general sequence of Canvases.
I generate(place) a canvas on the fly and has written bindings as adding a tag as "Canvas."
But the statement
"set xvalue [%W canvasx %x]" was generating an error as
.top51 chould be cget or configure.
I have Understood the problem as being that the toplevel is not the canvas.
Can any one suggest me any substitute for %W for specific canvas.
