Can't VPN with machine name, but works with IP address

Someone's trying to VPN onto her machine from home, using netscreen. It connects properly if she uses her machine's IP address, but it doesn't work with her machine name. Any clue wut could be the reason why?

Name resolution over VPN often causes trouble. If this is the only issue, the easiest solution would be to add the work machine's name & IP address to the home machine's lmhosts file.

Try adding the DNS server IP address to the DNS list on her home PC.
